My husband and I LOVE ice cream, so naturally we asked for an ice cream maker for our wedding (It's pretty much a kitchen essential, right?) For less than $60, you too can have delicious ice cream at home, especially if you follow this recipe.

This is a basic vanilla recipe, but you can sub out the vanilla extract for any flavor you want and then get creative! Cuisinart also has a ton more here: Ice Cream Recipes!

Ingredients

1 C. Whole Milk

2 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream

2/3 Cup Sugar

1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract

Pinch of Salt

Directions

1) In a medium bowl, use a hand-mixer on low speed to combine the sugar, milk, and salt until sugar is disolved. Slowly mix in heavy whipping cream and vanilla.

2) Cover and refrigerate 1-2 hours or overnight.

3) Turn the cuisinart ice cream maker on, pour mixture into frozen freezer bowl and let mix until thickened 20-25 mins.

4) Transfer the ice cream into an airtight container and store in freezer. Let freeze for 2 hours before serving!

Enjoy!
