It's this week's edition of Friday Favorites and it was hard to whittle it down BECAUSE THIS WEEK WAS GREAT. Except for yesterday when I had a migraine all day. It's also been a busy week-- both work-wise and socially. It's been all sorts of fun, but I'm also all sorts of exhausted. So, without further ado, here's what had my heart-a-flutter this week:
Simone Biles
We all have Simone-mania, right? I mean, how could you not? That woman is a machine in a compact 4'9 frame. As a former "gymnast" myself (I use the term gymnast liberally because I was never very good and my back-handsprings always went to the right for some odd reason), the ways in which she defies gravity and sticks her landings is awe-inspiring. AND SHE DOES IT ALL WITH A SMILE ON HER FACE. If you haven't seen her floor routine, get ready for some jaw-dropping:
A "Heart-Warming" Story
Every once in awhile, I'll be checking headlines and a story will come along that makes me "aww" aloud. The culprit this week came courtesy of this New York Time's article about a "Bride Who Was Walked Down the Aisle by the Man Who Got Her Father's Donated Heart." I mean, come on? How freaking sweet is that? The article mentions the man told the bride to "grip his wrist because that's where his pulse is strongest." Cue the water works.
My Co-Workers
Working on a medical show is somewhat of a dream for me because of all my health ailments. I mean, if I do actually go into anaphylaxis, there's a doctor close by at any point and time! It's amazing! But, in addition to the medical knowledge, they're also the nicest and hardest working group of people I've been lucky enough to work for. It makes the 12-hour days and long commute beyond worth it. And here's an article about my bosses talking about the show at this week's TCA's.
Bullet Journals
While I am not myself "bullet journaling," I love the fact that people are falling in love with organizing. And I did enjoy that several of my friends felt compelled to send me this link this week: WTF Is A Bullet Journal And Why Should You Start One?
Hope everyone had a fantastic week!
